Why I Switched to GEICO

When we moved to Texas, we switched to GEICO. Honestly, we save about $40 a month. For the same coverage. How crazy would it be not to? But still, it was hard. We had been with State Farm for like 18 years. They warned us in ominous tones when we told them we were switching... and switching to GEICO. "Oh... You really wanna check out the coverage. They'll get you with hidden costs, and they won't cover as much for your money." Well, no. Actually we have the same exact coverage for $40 less per month.

And then, about a month after we switched, someone sideswiped the minivan in a parking lot and drove away. GEICO has come through brilliantly, coaching us through the claim process... even suggesting ways to lower our deductible. I walked away from the adjuster's office today with a free rental car for the week... and I was expecting to have to share with Luanne for the week.

I'm telling you. Switch to GEICO. The lizard will not disappoint.

i totally agree! i've been using Geico now for years, and even though i don't have occasion to make claims, the few times i have have been wonderful. they really are amazing. and my cost keeps going down because my car gets older (obviously). i'd think that if they 'get you' with hidden costs, that wouldn't be so much the case.

Thanks for the chuckle, it was much needed today! I am glad GEICO worked out, we haven't filed a claim yet, but it's good to know they've got our backs!

Just to follow up. It was a nearly perfect experience, start to finish. Huge props to John Vines, who alerted me to the FREE rental car perk since we were hit by an uninsured motorist. They did a great job, all for the low, low price of only $250. Switch to GEICO.
