Just a quick one to let you know what's up:

We're currently in Simi Valley, CA, settling into our new temporary home here in Luanne's parents' house. When I got here, I sent emails to many local churches offering to fill in if they needed a worship leader any Sunday. Yesterday I led at Simi Hills Christian Church. It was a great morning, and it may work into more Sundays leading there.

Thanks to the generosity of Pastor Bruce Bruns and Simi Covenant Church, Joshua left for high school camp at Hume Lake San Diego yesterday. He will be there all week. We're praying for God to work in his heart in powerful ways and for him to be responsive! And for safety. Always for safety.

On Thursday I drive up to Sacramento. I'll be working with the band and leading worship this weekend at BOSS (Bayside of South Sacramento), a great Covenant church there. Then Monday through next Sunday, I'll be leading worship at Mission Springs Family Camp in Scotts Valley. We're really looking forward to seeing some good friends from the Bay Area and relaxing in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains.

On July 5-7, I'll be meeting with leaders and working with music groups at Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church. Praying for wisdom and discernment concerning this ministry opportunity.

We visited Redeemer Covenant in Tulsa, OK, a few weekends back. We had a wonderful time there, and we feel like it could be a really good fit for me vocationally as well as a great fit for our family. I will be having a follow-up phone interview and then most likely visiting the church again the last weekend in July.

Until next time...

Just found out I'll be leading at First Baptist Church of Los Altos on Sunday, July 12. Looking forward to getting to know this great community of believers!

Walnut Creek Pres has offered their worship position to another candidate, so I will not be visiting this week after all... (7/5/09)
